Browning Butler is a local company, independently owned and directed by Susan Hanna, P.T. We are staffed by a professional team of experienced, licensed physical therapists and physical therapist assistants. Our goal is to provide each person with comprehensive evaluations, individualized treatments and personal attention to allow every person to reach their own functional goals in a timely manner.

Susan Hanna, PT

Physical Therapist & Owner

Susan is a New York State licensed Physical Therapist. She graduated from Ithaca College and worked in various facilities across the country before returning to the Capital District and settling in Brunswick, NY. Susan valued the quality of care that patients were given while she worked as an employee of Browning Butler Physical Therapy Associates, and purchased the company in 2001 to ensure that their mission and vision would be maintained. Her continuing education has focused on refining her evaluative and manual skills including methods in Muscle Energy, Myofacial Pain and Total Motion Release for children and adults.

In addition to treating clients in the office, Susan has also provided consultation services for local school districts and direct services to children with special needs through Rensselaer County’s Early Intervention Program. In her free time, Susan enjoys supporting her family’s various endeavors and spending time outdoors.

Debra McCormick, PTA

Physical Therapy Assistant & Office Manager

Debra was born and raised in Troy, NY. She graduated from Maria College with an A.A.S. in Physical Therapy Assistant. Out of college, she worked with the geriatric population in skilled nursing facilities. She has been at Browning Butler P.T. Associates, PC since 1993 where she has gained vast knowledge and experience in a variety of populations.

Through her clinical experience, she has worked with people with orthopedic needs including total joint replacements, neurological needs including stroke rehabilitation, and pediatric needs. She has also worked in various educational based settings with children pre-K-12 with program focusing on gross motor development. Outside of work, her interests include spending time with her husband and family, and participating in activities including running and yoga.
